A 4O3A Antenna Genius switch puts several antennas behind one feedline and lets the operator choose, remotely, which one the radio sees. For a station you cannot walk out to, the alternative is one antenna and a compromise on every band but one.
It also has to be interlocked with transmit: switching an antenna under power is how you turn an expensive switch into a cheap one. The radio's transmit state from RS1.FLEX.MONITOR is part of this module's decision, not an afterthought.
